Trust me that the camera settings are much easier than your day job.
Manual mode I've seen people struggle with. Calm, manual mode is only controlling 3 things.
ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture.
Increasing light is as simple as increasing ISO, Decreasing shutter speed, Decreasing Aperture.
ISO is sensitivity to light, higher ISO generally means more noise = thankfully there is noise reduction
Shutter speed - the higher the speed the faster the action you can capture!
Aperture- better shown in this diagram. https://2dhnizrxqvv1awj231eodql1-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/aperture-scale-depth-of-field.jpeg the amount of light vs depth of field. But do remember that lenses tend to be sharper at certain aperture's like f8.
Ok a few confusing items. But if you master these 3 things alone even you can get some very nice photos.
